Privacy policy

What we process

• For the free check: your postcode, house number and the home details you fill in (floor area, energy label, WOZ value, rent, amenities). No account or email is required.
• Only when buying a report: your email address (for delivery) and your landlord's name and address (for the letter in the report).
• Payment data: payment is handled entirely by Mollie; we never see or store bank account numbers.

What we use it for

Exclusively for running the calculation, generating and delivering your report and handling the payment (legal basis: performance of the contract). We don't use your email for marketing and never sell data to third parties.

How long we keep it

• Checks without a purchase: up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Payment and invoice data: 7 years (statutory tax retention).
• Report download links: valid for 7 days.

Processors

We use a small number of processors within the EU or with appropriate safeguards: Neon (database), Cloudflare (hosting and email routing), Mollie (payments), Resend (email) and PostHog (analytics). To enrich address data we query the public Dutch BAG, EP-Online and WOZ registries with only your postcode and house number.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, restrict processing, data portability and object to processing. Email support@huurchecken.com to exercise these rights. We respond within 30 days.

Cookies and analytics

Necessary cookies and local storage are used to make the website, payment flow, language choice and security work. Analytics cookies and session recordings via PostHog only start after you give consent in the cookie banner. Necessary payment status events may be logged server-side to reliably process payments and report delivery.
